Erin Griffith is a business journalist at the New York Times.

She has worked for WIRED, Fortune, Pando, Adweek, peHUB, Buyouts magazine, and Mergermarket. 

Her Fortune magazine column, "Boom with a View" won a SABEW honorable mention for Commentary/Opinion writing in 2017 and a National Headliner award in 2016. While working as a senior writer at Fortune, Erin authored Term Sheet, a daily newsletter about venture capital and private equity. She also wrote several cover stories for the magazine, served as cochair of the Fortune Brainstorm TECH conference, contributed to Fortune franchises including 40 Under 40 and Most Powerful Women, and cohosted Tech Debate, a Fortune video show. 

Prior to Fortune, Erin wrote for Pando, a Silicon Valley site where she was the second hire. Before that she reported on technology and digital media at Adweek.

From 2007 to 2010, Erin worked as a Senior Reporter for peHUB.com and Buyouts magazine, covering buyouts, leveraged loans, and M&A.

In in the mid-aughts, she covered consumer products and retail M&A for Mergermarket, where her deal scoops appeared on Mergermarket, dealReporter, Debtwire, and FT.com.

She has a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, minors in Philosophy and English, and a Women’s Studies certificate from Ohio University.
